Hours Open to CS Students We are a SUMMER ONLY program for student volunteers. Students must apply by March 31st to be a summer volunteer. There are no opportunities available during the school year.

Minimum Age: Must be 16 years old
Description of Opportunities Assist nursing units, deliver mail and flowers to patients, assist with clerical duties, data entry, and participate in special projects.
Minimum Time per Shift 2-4 hour shifts per week Summer Only
Dress Required: Volunteer uniform, cost is $18.00 Uniform is requires
Supervision Provided By: Karla Bachl @ Cedar Crest site, Lynn Schaeffer @ 17th and Chew site
Training/Orientation: Two hour orientation session followed by on-the-job training with a staff member or experienced volunteer.

  • Additional Information: * Parental Waiver required for this agency. Please note that although we are one hospital, students may choose between two sites. Requirements to volunteer at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network include completion of a volunteer application, a clear Pennsylvania Criminal History Check (free to the volunteer by LVHN for those age 16 and older), proof of required immunizations and a certification of good health by a medical provider, parental consent, and two tests for tuberculosis (free to the volunteer by LVHN).
