Thank you for the privilege of serving as your new Superintendent of Schools for the remainder of the 2009-2010 school year in the Bethlehem Area School District (BASD). The quality and cordiality by which I have been welcomed is indeed heartwarming. The entire corps of employees have given beyond what is necessary to extend themselves. In addition, Dr. Lewis was especially generous and kind with his unselfish thoughtfulness during my introduction to BASD this summer. Some of the many good things that BASD enjoys is the quality of the teaching, support, and administrative staffs. The students are polite and for the most part hard working. It is my impression that we are setting high expectations for our students; however if we continue to push for even higher levels of performance, I firmly believe we will get it. Excellence should be a goal for all of us. Bethlehem Area School District is a great school district, but we can do better. Please join us to make BASD one of the premier school districts in the United States. We should strive for nothing less.
