Understanding Our World
Understanding
Our World is a one credit social studies course required
for every student at Nazareth High School. The course is
designed in two parts, a World History portion (nine weeks)
and a Diversity portion (nine weeks). Equipped with
historical background, students are able to observe modern
issues such as race relations, the economy, current
legislation and the changing role of women in their proper
context. Instructional
methods in the Understanding Our World course are
flexible and varied in order to meet the educational needs
of students of all ability levels in an intensively
scheduled class. This is a required course for freshmen.
