BASD Goals for 2011-2012 School Year
1. Roadmap to Educational Excellence - Implement the BASD School Improvement Planning process and
      supporting initiatives in pursuit of the following educational goals
   
  • Core Learning
    • Improve the overall district PSSA proficiency attainment by grade level;
    • Attain adequate yearly progress (AYP) for all schools;
    • Reduce achievement gaps by 3% per year;
    • Exceed "one year's worth of growth in one year's time for all students on the PA
      Value Added Assessment System.
  • Stretch Learning
    • Improve the Advanced Placement Equity and Excellence score for both Liberty
      and Freedom High Schools by 3% annually;
    • Increase by 3% per year the number of graduates receiving advanced placement
      credit or dual enrollment credit in their post-high school programs.
  • Student Engagement
    • Improve student relationships within schools while decreasing discipline issues
      through the consistent application of the Code of Conduct and through implementation of Restorative Practices starting at Liberty and Freedom High Schools.
      • Improve school climate through annual 3% reductions in Level 1 and Level 2 discipline infractions;
      • Improve by 3% per year student self-reported engagement and involvement in school.
    • Achieve 3% improvements in the overall degree of stakeholder satisfaction in BASD schools as measured by the BASD School Improvement Survey.
  • Personal Skill Development
    • Improve by 3% annually perceptions of students' soft skills such as perseverance, leadership and teamwork as reported in the BASD School Improvement Survey.
 
2. Continue to strengthen the district's financial integrity by achieving a fund balance in the range of 5% - 8% of the total district budget and through sustainable budgeting and cost reductions throughout the fiscal year.
